When providing education, setting out policy and in all other activities, the ROCvA is guided by its core values: attentive, ambitious, dependable, effective and pleasant. This applies to the relationship with students, parents, companies and all other parties with which collaboration takes place. The ROCvA offers a broad choice of education, ranging from advanced intermediate vocational education and intermediate vocational education to training courses for adults, companies and business relations.

The different forms and types of education are provided at several locations in the Amsterdam region. ROCvA was looking for a professional partner capable of installing audiovisual equipment in the various newly constructed locations and put this task out to European tender. BIS participated in the tender for ROCvA, Voorgezet Onderwijs van Amsterdam and ROC Flevoland and won three of the four mini competitions, resulting in an order for the furniture and equipment for three complete new-build locations. After this initial successful collaboration and implementation, ROCvA also requested BIS to supply and install audiovisual equipment at a number of other locations.

In total, BIS installed solutions comprising SMARTboards, projection and interactive LED touchscreens for more than 150 teaching spaces, ranging from small classrooms to large rooms for up to 40 students. In addition, central halls, auditoriums, canteens, etc. were equipped with information distribution systems comprising LCD screens and an impressive video wall on which timetable information and other useful tips, announcements, etc. could be displayed in a visually attractive manner. In addition, various lecture theatres, auditoria, etc. were equipped with the appropriate audiovisual aids including high-end projection and intelligent control systems. A number of meeting rooms were equipped with stylish and particularly effective Evoko room reservation systems, which allow reservations to be made or extended, etc. via units outside the room itself or via a PC, tablet or smartphone.

A special chroma key studio was created for the Media & Styling course. This studio features a green screen and special lighting - delivered by Philips - which students can use to produce their own films and other media productions as part of their training. A ‘Construction Lab’ was set up in order to improve the Construction & Infra course. The construction lab has been created for both students and construction companies. This space is intended to bring professionals from the construction and infrastructure sector in contact with students. This means that students can find traineeship positions more easily and gives them a better picture of the world of construction. However, companies can also rent the space for events.

The ROCvA has entered into a 3-year framework agreement with BIS that covers a whole range of maintenance and service level agreements. As a result, ROCvA can depend on expert maintenance of the solutions and dependable support.

BIS is privileged to have assisted ROCvA by supplying and fitting the complete audiovisual equipment and furnishings for their magnificent school buildings.
