Workspace management: optimal usage of workstations

The trend of The New World of Work creates a large need for a quick overview of the available workstations or meeting rooms. Indeed, the workspace shifts more and more from a fixed desk to flex workspaces. Increasingly, employees work from every conceivable place where a laptop or tablet can be set up and where they can connect to the company network. Stuck in traffic? Then it is likely that the "fixed" workspace will be occupied when you get there, so that it may take longer to look for an alternative workplace than you’d hoped for. Then too, a Room Management system offers a solution.

Furthermore, under the influence of The New World of Work Room Management has become a hot topic, as organizations that have introduced The New World of Work often encounter the problem that it is difficult to get insight into the utilization of rooms and flex workspaces. In addition, because of the flexibility related to The New World of Work it is more likely that colleagues will interrupt one another’s conference room or workspaces.

• Possibility to book at room level, in the case of a sudden meeting or extension

An appealing development that we have seen recently is the possibility to read personal ID cards (staff cards) through RFID with card readers, which are in turn linked to the Room Management system. Due to this technology, it is also clear who has used which room or workspace and when.
